Planning … It’s as Simple as A-B-See
- Plan A: This is where you stop to create the timeline for working on the work of your work! Of all the time management principles I teach, planning seems to be the one most people want to skip. Yet doing so can be costly in terms of time, money and especially stress. Take the time … make the time, because 5 minutes of planning saves 30 minutes of doing.
- Plan B: Contrary to popular belief, productivity does not live in Plan A. It lives in Plan B. Why? Because many times something gets in the way of implementing it. So, Plan B is the next step. What if you get interrupted, or there’s an emergency, or priorities shift?? If there’s a Plan B, it relieves the stress while you do what you need to do.
- Plan See: If you practice the plan above, you’ll see and feel the difference in getting your day and week—and life—to feel less harried, hurried and more on top of things. And the more control you feel you have over your environment, the more productive and relaxed you will be. Go ahead … give it a try!
